I ruined a chair by painting. It turned out stuff and crunchy. Watched a fabric painter and she uses fabruc softener. Seemed to be a the answer.

Hi Amy, I am planning on making resin molds, that I am gluing to a mirror frame, im using the one-step paint for the base coat, will it stick to the resin? And then I plan on using the cracked patina and milk paint in layers, will that be okay

My chair has embossing. Kind of like velvet or chenille. Would this work on that fabric?

I have many of your products and I enjoy using them. This may be one I will add to my stash! Is there another version of this video that has higher resolution? I can only get it to 720 and it makes everything look grainy and choppy, is there a version that is 1080p? Thanks!

Not on your live, watching a replay from League City Tx. I just love the "grunge" finish however I so wish you would have finished what you started. There was no follow through to get the piece you were working on to end up looking like the piece you started with....any way it was disappointing as I'm very interested in that finish.

Love your teaching. 👍 I totally agree primer and brushes are very important to the quality of the finished product. Plus durability. Your oil based high gloss pink bed looks amazing. Ps. You should continue teaching. Very thorough like Amy.

When doing venetian plaster normally is done in 3 coats of Italian venetian. 1st coat is full coverage on board or walls, 2nd skip trowel technique and 3rd is full coverage and you will definitely get the Real Italian dimension look your talking about plus after the 3rd coat the plaster can be burnished to create a high shine if you're using grassello. If using marmamrino it will have a look with some shine with sort stucco embedded. Both create are gorgeous and create depth on art boards or walls. It can also be stenciled during the plaster process or painted stencils embedded into the plaster as well that and looks very elegant and aged. In fact, I'm literally getting ready to do venetian artwork on my livingroom walls along with adding real thin brick on two archways in my home. One leads into my kitchen and I'm so excited. I know the projects will be stunning when I'm finished. I just did a gorgeous medallion in the hall near the bathroom today and its so beautiful. Funny thing I didn't even know Tuscany was trending again. I've had some in my home all my adult years but I'm going full on with it . Started in winter doing my wooden kitchen cabinets done with lots milled trims like rope fleur di lys. Famcy range hood too. I'm having Glad i flund Amy Howard's channel and products. 👍😍

Wow! I'm literally getting ready to do some raised venetian plaster wall art in my livingroom in Old World Style and the timing of running across all Amy Howard's awesome products has blown me away. I know OLD World Italy style isn't in trend right now but I don't follow trends. I do what I like and I have always had this style in my home but I'm full ON with it with this remodel. So glad I found Amy Howard's channel. Fantastic ideas for me. :❤. Can't believe no one has commented yet except me. Love being 1st. Lol

New England, hello is this like casting material for broken bones? Won't this add width, making it harder to close a drawer and wear and tear opening and closing, i really like the look but maybe on a table top Could you add resin to prevent cracking? If you have large molds you would be able to make ceiling rosets to go around light fixtures but there would be so many center hole sizes

So where the camera dropped off around 17:18 was the exact part I was most interested in. You are saying that the Antiquing Glaze essentially wears away the gesso and milk paint layer to expose the gilt layer? I am working with a pre-gilt mirror but want to ensure I can reveal enough of the gilt layer for my project. Thank you!! And this is a gorgeous result!! Thank you for posting it here!!

The best sponge i ever found was from a pottery supply shop, it is an elephant ear sponge. It provides a nice small stipple. I used to shape sponges into a shape that was good for myself, well over the years commercial sponges fell apart while sea sponges have lasted for years.

I wonder if you used fabric stiffener on older doilies or lace could you use it as a stencil, spray the back with low tac rubber cement so it stays put. Hmm another idea to try

Lovely mural, having been a textile designer it's very nice. Have you looked at Degouney wall covering? I really like the black doors, now I'm considering my lower kitchen cabinets in black. I was taught in decor every room should have something very dark for weight or anchor. so your room doesn't float Take a peek at château DeLand in France. They are restoring a chapel with hand painted murals, the weather and environment took it's toll on the plaster walls, the painstaking détails that are being taken to restore the missing artwork including gold and palladium accents. I keep asking what type of paint is being used on plaster. - no answer. They are even blending shades of color so it mimics the history of the first artisans who created the artwork

Thank you for this tutorial!!!! This came out amazing! I have these products and would love to try them on two winged back chairs. Question...My chairs are a golden/yellow damask fabric. I would like to paint the fabric white. Would the fabric softener I add change the color of my paint? Do you suggest going darker or changing the ratio to accommodate for the color of my fabric softener? Thank you again for giving me inspiration and any suggestions are greatly appreciated.
